Character

Dourmier reference point.

Ink of my clay caricature

I've added donkey ears on him to make him an ass, and it recalls A Midsummer nights dream. It also reminded me of the theatre faces.

I'm thinking of using the shadowy portrait as a poster against the political party.

WEEK 2 (The Arrival) and its use of metaphor
a. Intent
To investigate the use of visual metaphor to communicate complex emotional responses
c. Communication objectives (brief)
to communicate the feeling of loss – discovery and reunion.
d. Ref. point.
‘ The Arrival’

Looking at light from the dark, the connection of family. The holding of hands becomes a circle, a sense of whole.
Thinking of the connection to the tsunami and water, the children are fishes in the current, being swept back to shore, to their parents. They have grown up, yet are still recognisable to their parents. (Mermaids? recognisable yet different.)

I feel I should follow the fishes idea. The final outcome is to be like one featured in a magazine article to illustrate the story, following Shaun Tans metaphorical and symbolic means of communication.
